Organisation of screening camps and awareness activities to identify cleft lip and palate patients in following areas/Districts-
1. Siwan ,Bihar-This is our first camp for cleft lip and palate patients. In this camp we had registered 96 patients .
2. Hindalco,U.P. This is our second camp for cleft lip and palate patients. In this camp we registered 80 patients.
3. Gorakhpur,U.P.- This is our third camp for cleft lip and palate patients. In this camp we had registered 175 patients.
4. Muzaffarpur,Bihar- This is our forth camp for cleft lip and palate patients but second camp in Bihar. Here we had registered huge number of patients 320.
5.Karvi,U.P- Here we registered 118 patients.
Team of social workers visited these places and did extensive publicity and door to door visit to identify cleft lip and palate patients. Senior Plastic surgeons and anaesthesiologists were taken to these districts for screening camps and consultations.
861 patients of cleft of the lip and palate were finally selected for surgery and their free surgery was performed at G S Memorial Hospital Varanasi with the support of the Trust.

4. Betia,Bihar – In this camp we had registered 104 cleft lip and palate patients.
5. Jamaui,Bihar-In this camp we had registered 242 cleft lip and palate patients.
6. Padrauna,U.P.- Here we had registered 193 cleft lip and palate patients.
7. Patna,Bihar-Patna is capital of Bihar. Our Patna camp is one of big camp for us .Here we had registered 494 patients.
8. Varanasi,U.P.-First time we had organized two day camp. Here we had registered 522 patients. It is our biggest camp for cleft lip and palate patients.
Team of social workers visited these places and did extensive publicity and door to door visit to identify cleft lip and palate patients. Senior Plastic surgeons and anaesthesiologists were taken to these districts for screening camps and consultations.
1839 patients of cleft of the lip and palate were finally selected for surgery and their free surgery was performed at G S Memorial Hospital Varanasi with the support of the Trust.

6.Azamgarh,U.P.- A screening camp had organized on 25/11/2007 in Azamgarh for cleft lip and palate patients. Here we had registered 65 cleft lip and palate patients.
7.Muzaffarpur,Bihar - A screening camp had organized on 16/12/2007 in Muzaffarpur for cleft lip and palate patients. Here we had registered 374 cleft lip and palate patients.
8.Bhagalpur,Bihar- A screening camp had organized on 27/01/2008 in Bhagalpur for cleft lip and palate patients. Here we had registered 381 cleft lip and palate patients.

A team of social workers visited these places and did extensive publicity and door to door visit to identify cleft lip and palate patients. Senor Plastic surgeons and anaesthesiologists were taken to these districts for screening camps and consultations.
2. 1691 patients of cleft of the lip and palate were finally selected for surgery and their free surgery was performed at G S Memorial Hospital Varanasi with the support of the Trust.
3. The patients were provided milk and food during their stay.
4. A large number of patients were provided the expenses for their travel from their home to hospital and back.
5. Cleft children were provided small gifts.
6. Telephonic campaign and support was provided to all cleft patients before and after surgery.
7. Team of social workers and counsellors provided counselling and support to the poor and illiterate patients and their parents while they were in the hospital and assisted them in going through the processes of the hospital and treatment.
The trusts agreement with the Smile Train was discontinued as they entered into a direct contract with the hospital. However, the Trust continued to provide services to poor and needy patients with its staff and resources. Trust also did health educational programs by taking doctors amongst people.
